Portions

i) Portion size

After selecting a food and choosing to "add to log", you select from a drop down list the portion size. The options available to you will differ depending on the food item chosen. For example, if you chose "cheese, cheddar" you will have the option to select 1 cup diced, 1 cubic inch, 1 slice, etc. Select the portion size closest to the smallest suitable. For example, if you chose "cheese, cheddar", and you ate 3 slices, choose "1 slice".

ii) # of portions

Next, type in the number of portions you had. For example, if you had 3 slices of cheddar cheese, you enter "3". For some foods, it may be appropriate to select a portion smaller than 1 when 1 cup is the most suitable portion size option, such as a 1/2 cup of milk. Fractional portions should be entered using a decimal place:

1/4 = 0.25
1/3 = 0.33
1/2 = 0.50
2/3 = 0.66
3/4 = 0.75
